Materials & Care

Air mesh panels with a padded trim, a wide hook-and-loop chest panel and a side-release clip. Reflective strips run along both flanks.

Hand wash in cool water and dry flat. Skip the tumble dryer — heat softens the hook-and-loop and it stops gripping properly.

How To Fit It

Measure her neck girth and chest girth with a soft tape, then read them off the size guide. Weight is a sanity check, not the deciding number.

Two fingers should slide under the chest panel — no more. Short-haired cats usually need one size down, because there is no coat filling out the gap.

Let her wear it indoors for a few short sessions before you clip the lead on.

  • Breathable Air Mesh

Soft panels that move with her and let heat out on a warm afternoon.

  • Two Fastenings

A wide hook-and-loop chest panel, then a clip that locks over the top of it.

  • On In Thirty Seconds

She steps in, you press the panel down and click the clip. Nothing goes over her head.

  • No Stiff Edges

Padded trim all the way round, so there is nothing hard sitting against her shoulders.

  • Reflective Strips

Both flanks catch headlights and torchlight once the sun drops.

    Held Where It Should Be

A collar puts everything on the throat. This sits across the chest and shoulders instead, so when she plants her feet or bolts at a noise, the pull spreads over a wide panel rather than one narrow band.

That is the whole point of a step-in shape: the load goes where a cat is built to take it.

    hns-v3-hns-sec-9ajNRP.png

    Two Fastenings, Not One

The chest panel closes with a wide strip of hook-and-loop — broad enough that it grips along its whole length instead of peeling from a corner.

A side-release clip then closes over the top. Two separate closures, so one letting go does not mean she is loose.

    hns-v3-hns-sec-PBR7ri.png

    On In About Thirty Seconds

Step in, press, click. No pushing anything over her ears, no wrestling her front legs through a loop, no standoff before a walk.

Most of the fight with harnesses happens in the first ten seconds. Take that away and she stops treating it as a fight.

    hns-v3-hns-sec-Y3PHRH.png

    A Window Is Not Enough

Indoor cats pace, stare and yell at the glass because the day is the same every day. Ten minutes on a balcony or a patch of grass changes that — new smells, moving air, ground that is not carpet.

You do not need a hike. A short lead and a quiet corner is plenty.

    FAQs

Can she wriggle out of it?

Two closures make that much harder than a single strap: a wide hook-and-loop chest panel, with a locking clip over the top. Fit it so only two fingers slide underneath and there is no slack for her to reverse out of.

My cat hates harnesses. Will this be different?

Most of the objection is the part where something gets pushed over the head. This one she steps into. Leave it on indoors for a few short sessions first, without the lead, and let her decide it is boring.

    Which size do I order?

Measure neck girth and chest girth with a soft tape and read them off the size guide — weight is only a cross-check. Short-haired cats usually need one size down, because there is no coat filling the gap.

What if I get the size wrong?

We exchange it free. Tell us within 30 days and we will send the right one out.

Is walking a cat on a lead cruel?

Done at her pace it is the opposite — she chooses where to go and you keep her out of the road. Do not drag her; let her stop and sniff as long as she likes.

Can she wear it at night?

Reflective strips run along both flanks, so she shows up in headlights and torchlight. Keep to lit areas and a short lead after dark.

We are making progress. Blue loves to sit in our garden and watch the birds fly by. She will walk from the middle of our yard to the front door calmly while in her harness, but she's not interested yet in taking neighborhood walks-she's too scared. The customer service for Stimulicat was exceptional. By their measurements, Blue was a small, but when it came, it was too big. I contacted them, and sent Blue's exact measurements and they sent an extra small harness that fits her well. They told me to keep or donate the one that was too big. The replacement harness came quickly. Good company to work with!

This video shows my girl's first time outside using the harness. She loved it! This harness was different; it fit her correctly, and she forgot she was wearing it. It was worth the money! I look forward to many more outdoor adventures with her in the future.

Following the daily steps was invaluable. My 18 year old cat needed a few more days on each step, but was successful and we ventured outside and wandered around without hesitation today. Nice to have her outside while we are camping! Thank you!

My girl is a kitten. At first the harness was too big, but easily adjusted. She has had a growth spurt in the last month and now the harness is tight, just right. She loves her backyard walks.

I do like the vest and so far our little Eco has not been able to slip out (he's quite the Houdini!) Did take a very long time to arrive, however. Nearly a month.

I like how light it is but the small is huge. My cat is 12 lbs and it’s way too big. Not sure if it was sized wrong!

So far, I've only let my cat wear the vest around the house. Going to introduce the leash a little bit later. He looks really cute though! My more independent Kitty has not allowed me to put it on her yet, but we'll get there.

Betty Mae loves her harness. She is a VERY large cat & it fits great! She took to wearing the harness quickly. By day 2 she’s sporting her new harness with enthusiasm! We have purchased many cat harnesses & none of them fit her considerable girth!!!! Love the reflecting trim, helps to spot her quickly & it’s cute! Thank you!!!
